Essendo il Camerun parte di convenzioni regionali e internazionali, c’è un grande coinvolgimento delle istituzioni comunitarie e internazionali nel rafforzamento della gestione della pesca in Camerun. Nonostante il sistema di monitoraggio, controllo e sorveglianza del settore della pesca messo in atto dal governo, questo settore, che è uno dei pilastri dell’economia del paese, sta vivendo numerosi problemi nel suo effettivo sviluppo.
