Farm mechanization has played a vital role in increasing production, productivity and profitability of farm enterprise. It is mainly attributed to timeliness in farm operations and reduction in application of various inputs through their precise metering, application and higher use efficiencies. Being one of the most important elements of modern agriculture, farm power and machinery has become an essential subject in the course curricula of most disciplines in agriculture. Currently, it is being taught to the U.G. students of agriculture, horticulture, forestry and agricultural engineering. The focus of the book is on commonly used power sources and farm machines used on agricultural farms. The contents covered are as per the Dean’s Committee recommendations for agriculture, horticulture, forestry and agricultural engineering students. The book is written in simple and easy to understand English. The book is highly illustrated. Both theory and objective type questions have been included for the benefit of the students. The author believes that the book should prove to be a valuable textbook in various agricultural universities and affiliated agricultural colleges. It can prove to be a valuable academic asset for students, staff and libraries of colleges and universities worldwide.
