Public transportation systems are an important part of the built up environment. This book is a candid evaluation of the transport system in Western Kenya, Africa. Amidst the hustle and bustle that is common to this space, we find a segment of the population locked out due to the presence of design and attitudinal barriers. This research presents the view that the use of the normate template leads to discrimination against learners with disability during instances when they use the space. This book also presents instances when physical design barriers act as a catalyst for projection of attitudinal barriers against students with physical disability.Public transportation systems are an important part of the built up environment. This book also presents instances when physical design barriers act as a catalyst for projection of attitudinal barriers against students with physical disability.Despite the presence of a policy environment which upholds equitable access for all regardless of physical status, people with physical disability still face ongoing discrimination and exclusion from public spaces. This research work had the following objectives. Determine the influence of design of circulation paths in bus termini on mobility of learners with physical disability; establish the influence of layout of amenities in bus termini on independence of learners with physical disability; examine the impact of attitudes of other users of termini on spatial inclusion of learners with physical disability.The following conclusions were made at the end of the study: mobility of the learners was hampered when they made use of circulation paths in the bus termini; the independence of the learners was hampered due to inappropriate design and layout of amenities.
