An RAF Time Capsule is about a totally unexpected find whilst clearing out the loft of the family home of 55 yrs., Roy Albert Blackburne’s RAF kitbag was full of wartime memorabilia. He proudly served as ground crew for 610 (County of Chester) Auxiliary Squadron in particular when the Battle of Britain raged at Biggin Hill, his war later taking him to India and Burma. The contents of the kitbag contain a wealth of information, documentation and original never before seen photographs of his time both home and abroad. Of great interest in the kitbag is a handwritten notebook written whilst on a Junior NCO’s course in Ambala, India, it details how to retrieve crashed aircraft, petrol rationing, workshop procedures etc., an exact copy of which is included in An RAF Time Capsule. This book fills the gap in the RAF WWII genre and is a must for RAF enthusiasts.
